Lectores de Lucha Reyes is a women’s biweekly literary group hosted by Libros Schmibros that explores identity, culture, and politics through diverse range of writers.

The group’s name commemorates the life and career of Lucha Reyes, famed Mexican singer of the 1930s and 1940s (called the “mother of ranchera music”) whose statue stands tall on Mariachi Plaza.

LLR provides a protected time and space for readers in the community to share and learn from each others experiences through a shared passion of the written word.
